What will I find in my share?

Shares change weekly throughout the growing season. We grow 150 acres of hand-picked fruits and vegetables; ensuring a wide variety of produce.

Just a “taste” of some of what we grow:

Fruit: Strawberries, Raspberries, Watermelon, Cantaloupe, Rhubarb, Apples from our sister farm; Pingle’s Farm Market, and fresh pressed cider in the fall.

Vegetables: Asparagus, Tomatoes, Sweet Corn, Broccoli, Cauliflower, Beans, Peas, Garlic, Onions, Peppers, Lettuce, Spinach, Swiss Chard, Kale, Beets, Peppers, Cucumbers, Zucchini, Squash, Potatoes, and Sweet Potatoes.

When will my share be delivered?

We establish our delivery route and confirm your delivery date & details with you, before the beginning of the season.

Do I need to be home to accept my delivery?

There is no need to be home at the time of your delivery. We’ll leave your box at your door.

If possible, we reccommend leaving a cooler on your porch, that we can pack your farm fresh produce in.

Can I sign up after the program has already started?

Yes! You can join at any point in the season. We pro-rate the cost of our share each week, so you’re only paying for the weeks you’ll recieve. 

Can I make changes to my share after the program starts?

Yes! You can change the size of your share at any time to suite your family needs. Reach us at csa@willowtreefarm.ca to process your desired changes.

Can I exchange the items in my basket?

Pick Up: We do allow you to exchange any items (up to 2 a week) for equal or lesser value, if you pick up your share from our market.

Delivery: Unfortunately, we do not allow you to exchange any items, for shares which are delivered.

What happens to our share if we are away on holiday one week?

As long as you notify us via email (csa@willowtreefarm.ca) before the Sunday leading up to your next delivery, we can place a hold on your share for your vacation dates.

We offer you a few options:

  • You can postpone your share and receive double the following week or the week prior.
  • You can get a friend or family to pick up your share while you are away.
  • We will give you the equivalent value of produce in meat for the missed weeks. Note: Meat must be picked up from the farm store.

Please Note: We do not issue in-store credits for missed weeks of the CSA program.

Do you offer a group discount?

Yes! If you have a group of five or more with the same delivery location, we have a discounted delivery rate. Please reach us at csa@willowtreefarm.ca to set-up!

Do you offer a payment plan?

Yes! We offer a payment plan. You can pay in 3 installments – however, there is an additional $20 banking fee for this type of payment plan. Payment plans must be paid in post-dated cheques, and we are unable to accept payment online for this option. If you are interest please contact us at csa@willowtreefarm.ca.

Are there taxes on the CSA Shares?

No, there is no tax on fresh food items. Another reason to eat healthy!

Do you offer refunds or cancellations?

CSA shares are non-refundable. Each year, we purchase our seed, and plant our crops based on our CSA registration. In certain life situations, a refund will be issued (less an administration fee). Please contact csa@willowtreefarm.ca to discuss your needs.

Do you use pesticides on your crops?

We use a diverse system of techniques to minimize our use of pesticide sprays such as: Integrated Pest Management (IPM), crop rotation, trap crops, green manure crops and companion planting. We are constantly scouting our crops, and monitoring insect and disease pressure.

In rare cases, when we reach maximum threshold levels and risk losing the entire crop; we will use the safest pesticide products available while following the label requirements & health regulations.
